The Building Information Model (BIM) is leading the way in the digital switchover for the design, construction and operation of building structures. BIM is a set of information that is structured in such a way that the data can be shared. A BIM is a digital model of a building in which information about a project is stored. It can be 3D, 4D (integrating time) or even 5D (including cost). As a receptacle for project information, BIM has massive versatility and potential.
This educational, networking and information sharing forum will take a look at current innovation brought by BIM to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, safety and competiveness. Model based technology is proving to be an extremely useful and efficient tool in bridging the information gap between each stage of the project flow. The conference will explore how Architects, Engineers, and Builders use BIM to create and use data in new and sophisticated ways to improve the methods of designing and constructing buildings.
The event consists of a two-day conference delivered by industry leading experts, as well as an exhibition area demonstrating the last BIM technologies.

Fundamentals of BIM for Improved Design and Construction & BIM validation
07-08 November 2016
Building information modeling is still crawling in the field of construction industry in Kuwait. Although, it’s important to implement BIM early within a project, the later it’s implemented, the harder certain BIM tasks become. No doubt, it’s clear in the horizon the advantages of using BIM. But we still need to know more about it.
Any firm who just started out using BIM doesn’t have enough experience to validate the received BIM model according to the international stander. All managers are asking about what is the deferent between level of detail and level of information and how to validate the model.
Outline / List of topics
• What is BIM, advantages and disadvantages?
• Open questions and answers
• What are BIM validation and its importance for firms?
• How to make validation for BIM model and how to write a technical validation report
